How SCALE Was Born
For more than 17 years, I’ve worked across the automobile, real estate, startup and software industries. Again and again, I saw good people hired, placed in roles and then left there. When performance slipped, the first instinct was to look for someone new, rather than ask the people who knew the business best what was really happening.
Most businesses weren’t short of people. They simply weren’t making the most of the people they already had. That realisation led me to start SCALE.
Understand what you have before deciding what you need
Many companies train their staff without first knowing which area actually lacks efficiency. The effort is genuine, but it doesn’t always reach the real problem.
That’s why everything at SCALE begins with Business Diagnostics. It is the core of our platform, and it is built and running today. Your employees rate, anonymously, how well their own function runs. SCALE turns their answers into a health score for each department, along with a clear view of how well its managers lead. There are no meetings to schedule and no guesswork, just honest evidence from your own people about where performance is being lost and where opportunity is waiting.
With that clarity, better decisions follow. If the capability you need already exists within your team, you can find it, develop it and place it where the business needs it most. You look outside only when it genuinely isn’t there.
What comes next
A diagnosis is a starting point, not a destination.
We’re now building the next phase of SCALE. Each diagnostic tells the story of one business. Together, they reveal something far bigger: patterns in how functions, teams and leaders perform, and in what truly helps them improve. We’re building a platform that learns from those patterns and grows wiser with every business it serves, while every individual answer stays anonymous.
We’ll share more soon. For now, we can say this much: it begins where your diagnostic ends. The businesses that understand themselves today will be the first to see where it leads.
“The right people, in the right roles, with the right development, can transform the way a business grows.”
